L'Artisan Pastellier rosin is obtained from pine resin, that is, the secretion of certain conifers (such as maritime pine). L'Artisan Pastellier rosin is a purified resin of rosin (ww) quality.

L'Artisan Pastellier rosin is used in many recipes, particularly for its strong adhesive properties (it adds tack to paints or makes products “stickier”). L'Artisan Pastellier rosin also adds hardness to certain products.

The Artisan Pastellier's rosin comes in the form of thick, yellow, transparent flakes that are brittle (and easy to grind into a powder).

Beewraps: for the production of its freshness wrapsthat are more natural.

There are many recipes available online, often using a mixture that includes beeswax, vegetable oils (sunflower or olive), and petroleum jelly.

The Artisan Pastellier's rosin softens at low temperatures (around approximately at80°C) and can be easily mixed with melted beeswax. The Artisan Pastellier rosin and the wax should preferably be heated at a low temperature on a hot plate to avoid open flames, and in a well-ventilated room to minimize inhalation of and dust. L'Artisan Pastellier rosin is soluble in alcohols (for varnish production) and aromatic solvents. L'Artisan Pastellier rosin is insoluble in water, which makes it valuable for the hydrophobic properties it imparts to products.
