Most of the selected colors are permanent, with the exception of the subtle and irreplaceable natural plant-based colors. The blue comes from genuine dyer’s pastel. The red lac from madder, the yellow lac from woad, the walnut lac, and the Maya blue are derived from cultivated plants.
